Travel Protection: It's About Your Investment
You are making a substantial investment in your upcoming trip.
Many expect a trip to proceed as planned, and usually they do. But that's not always the case. I speak from experience--a flight to Rome to catch a cruise was interrupted by eruption of a volcano in Iceland. Instead of a 3-hour layover at Heathrow, I had a six-night layover and missed the cruise.
Fortunately I had travel protection insurance. I got my pre-paid costs refunded (i.e. the cruise) and London hotel covered. I've been a believer ever since.

Of note for some of our travelers is a concern that they might have to cancel due to a “pre-existing condition.” To have your travel protection provide coverage if you have to cancel due to a pre-existing condition, you need to purchase it soon after making a deposit. With Travelex, to be eligible for a waiver of pre-existing medical condition exclusion, the protection plan must be purchased within 15 days (Travel Basic) or 21 days (Travel Select) from the time you make your initial trip deposit. However, a plan can be purchased any time prior to departure (you just won’t have this exclusion).
You can, of course, purchase travel protection from any insurer of your choice.
